1. Governance & Organizational Policy

Purpose

This policy establishes the governance principles through which FACC operates. FACC is committed to responsible leadership, accountability, transparency and service to vulnerable children and communities.

Governing Body

The governing body provides strategic oversight of FACC.

Management & Accountability

Management is responsible for implementing approved strategies, programs and policies, and shall report regularly to the governing body.

Conflict of Interest: Board members, management, employees and other decision-makers must disclose actual, potential or perceived conflicts of interest.

Accountability: FACC shall maintain appropriate records and provide accurate information to donors, regulators, partners and other legitimate stakeholders.

2. Child Safeguarding & Protection Policy

Purpose

The safety and dignity of children are fundamental to FACC. We will protect children from abuse, exploitation, neglect, violence, discrimination and other forms of harm. This policy applies to everyone representing FACC.

Street-Connected Children

Children living or spending substantial time on the streets can face heightened vulnerability. Our approach shall therefore go beyond food distribution and, where appropriate, connect children with:

  • Child-protection services
  • Health services
  • Education
  • Family support
  • Social services
  • Psychosocial support
  • Other appropriate community or government services

Interaction With Children

  • Treat every child with dignity
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries
  • Avoid unnecessary one-to-one situations
  • Never exploit a child's vulnerability
  • Never threaten or humiliate a child
  • Never engage in inappropriate physical contact
  • Never request inappropriate photographs
  • Never communicate with children inappropriately online
  • Follow approved safeguarding procedures

Reporting

Any safeguarding concern must be reported through FACC's designated reporting mechanism.
